“ShoZu mobile multimedia delivery platform with two complementary services: (1) ZuCasts enabling automatic delivery of published multimedia content to mobile phones with no user intervention; and (2) Share-It enabling the one-click upload of multimedia files from the handset to photo sharing communities and other Web-based destinations.
ShoZu’s technology simplifies multimedia content exchange on mobile phones, reducing the process to a single click or no clicks. Consumers can download and upload photos, videos, music, text and other digital content to and from the handset without the need to open a mobile browser, perform a complex navigation sequence, wait for pages to load, interrupt phone calls, start over in the event of a dropped connection, or sync to a PC. This eliminates the user frustration associated with the mobile Internet; gives brands, media companies and content providers a fast, user-friendly means of reaching customers through the mobile channel for the first time; and equips mobile operators with a value-added offering that can help drive revenues by providing a reason for consumers to purchase data service plans and increase data usage.
ShoZu’s patented data replication technology makes the mobile channel user-friendly for the first time. With the company’s ZuCast service, partner content downloads to the phone in the background with no user intervention or downtime. With its one-click Share-It image uploads, photos and video clips can be transmitted from camera phones to photo sharing sites and other Web destinations with no need to transfer files to a PC, open a mobile browser, perform a multi-click navigation sequence, wait to make a phone call or take another photo, or start over in the event of a dropped connection (ShoZu automatically resumes from the point of failure). And the platform can support any kind of content, from videos, photos and music to ringtones, wallpaper, games, information and entertainment - all with a single open application that eliminates the need to install different clients on the handset for each service or upgrade when a new service is added.
For mobile operators, ShoZu’s mobile media platform will help drive revenues by providing a compelling reason for consumers to purchase data service plans and increase data usage. From a consumer point of view, the platform has strong appeal to the key 14-30 demographic, enables interactive mobile access to today’s all-important social networking sites and a wide variety of information and entertainment, and enriches the mobile experience. From a carrier’s point of view, it does not interrupt other revenue-generating services and has the key advantage of supporting a wide range of web services through a single gateway and a single application on the phone. As the mobile channel evolves, the ShoZu platform will also provide a practical way of delivering mobile advertising, including.rich multimedia that can be pushed to the phone in the background with the same technology now used to deliver ZuCasts.
The ShoZu platform eliminates the barriers to web access from the mobile phone for the first time. The ability to have a content delivered automatically to the phone, interact with social networking sites with a click, and exchange two-way messages with web destinations without waiting to get to a PC - all as easily as sending a text message - will add major value to GSM and 3G services.
The ShoZu platform is being embraced by brands, media companies and content providers as a means of reaching the lucrative mobile channel — particularly the key 14-30 demographic — and by handset manufacturers who recognize the important value-add of being able to provide a mobile media experience. This partner ecosystem will enable ShoZu to penetrate the mobile community in almost unlimited numbers. The application is free to end users, either as a pre-install or download to the handset, removing cost barriers that would impede consumer adoption.”
